Orosi is a mesmerizing tribute to the traditional Persian lattice windows, reimagined through the prestigious medium of Murano glass. Historically, Orosi windows were massive wooden structures covering an entire side of a room, featuring climbing and vertical sliding openings filled with vibrant colored glass.This installation art transforms the traditional window into a contemporary statement while keeping its core soul, intricate geometric designs, and the original motivation behind using colored glass to manipulate light. While the structural details of the window are separated and abstracted in this installation, a custom pulley system is integrated to directly refer to the historic sash system of opening and closing them.True to heritage, each piece is crafted using a traditional Iranian woodwork technique where the colored glass—specifically cut according to a meticulous design—is precisely embedded and nestled between the handmade wooden frames. By moving the individual Murano glass panels up and down via the pulley, the viewer can actively alter how light filters through, allowing the rich colors to continuously shift, overlap, or mix, turning a timeless architectural legacy into a standalone, kinetic piece of modern art.
